Welcome to Ridgewood Dance Studio

It’s Saturday morning in Ridgewood, and something magical is already happening on Myrtle Avenue. The streets are still yawning, but inside Ridgewood Dance Studio, the energy is wide awake, electric, and ready to twirl. Whether you’re 3 or 33, there’s something special about walking through those studio doors on a Saturday.

Why Saturday is Our Favorite Day

Community Energy at Its Peak

Saturday is when everything comes together—tiny tutus, polished jazz shoes, hip-hop sneakers, proud parents, and Florence’s infectious laugh. It’s a beautiful, well-choreographed chaos, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

The Weekly Rhythm

Saturday isn’t just a day—it’s a rhythm. It’s the heartbeat of the Ridgewood Dance family. Each hour brings a new group of dancers, and each class adds its own spark to the day. Here’s what that looks like.

Meet the Morning Crew

Senior Company: Grace in Motion

🕘 9:45 AM – 10:45 AM

The day kicks off strong with our Senior Company—dancers who’ve grown through the studio over the years and now lead by example. It’s technique, discipline, and artistry wrapped in one. Warm-ups flow into complex routines, and the room fills with serious focus—peppered with laughter and team encouragement.

Ages 6–8: Building Foundations

đŸ•„ 10:45 AM – 11:45 AM

Next up, it’s time for the 6–8-year-old dancers. These kids are all about energy, curiosity, and growth. Ballet, jazz, and tap take center stage. You’ll catch glimpses of giggles during warm-ups and proud moments when choreography clicks. It’s equal parts learning and fun—just the way dance should be.

Midday Magic: Tiny Tappers & Budding Ballerinas

Ages 3–6: Where the Love of Dance Begins

🕛 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM

Ah, the tiny dancers. Our youngest class steps in around noon, and suddenly the room turns into a sparkle-filled world of imagination. Here, little feet learn rhythm, balance, and how to listen with their whole body. There are a few wobbly turns and lots of applause—because at Ridgewood, progress is always celebrated.

The Afternoon Pulse: Big Kids, Big Dreams

Ages 11 to Teen: Tweens with Talent

🕐 1:15 PM – 2:15 PM

This is where things get dynamic. Dancers in the 11 to teen age group are finding their style and sharpening their skills. From sharp jazz combos to expressive lyrical pieces, they’re starting to make bold choices with their movement—and we love to see it.

Teen Class: Turning Passion into Precision

🕑 2:15 PM – 3:15 PM

Next up is the teen class. These dancers are polishing every detail—from pointed toes to synchronized turns. There’s a quiet intensity here. They’re focused, they’re driven, and they’re ready to take the stage. This is where the love of dance transforms into mastery.

Ages 8–12: The Bridge Years

🕒 3:15 PM – 4:15 PM

Our final class of the day brings in dancers aged 8–12, right at that perfect sweet spot where imagination and discipline meet. They’re growing in skill and confidence, preparing to level up into more advanced routines and team performances.

What Makes Ridgewood’s Saturdays So Special?

The Energy of Generations

It’s not uncommon to find alumni watching with their own kids, or teens mentoring the tiny ones. That cross-generational vibe is what sets Ridgewood apart. It’s a ripple effect of confidence, creativity, and kindness.

Florence’s Family Vibe

Director Florence Webber is more than a teacher—she’s a second mom to many. She knows every dancer by name, remembers what song they loved last year, and makes everyone feel seen and celebrated. You’ll often hear her called “Mama Flo,” and she earns it, every single class.

A Place Where Confidence Grows

Dance is just the medium—confidence is the real product. Saturday by Saturday, we see shy kids come out of their shell, teens take leadership roles, and adults rediscover their joy. There’s no magic wand, just a lot of sweat, smiles, and support.

The Studio Behind the Scenes

Music, Mirrors & Magic

Ridgewood Dance Studio may not have chandeliers or gold trim, but it’s got something better—warm floors, full mirrors, and a wall of speakers that blast everything from Broadway classics to BeyoncĂ©. It’s a space where movement feels alive.

The Sound of Laughter, Tap Shoes & Teamwork

Between every class, you’ll hear tap shoes clicking on the tile, kids practicing counts in the hallway, and parents catching up in the lobby. It’s like a big family reunion that happens every weekend—with sequins.

Final Thoughts

If you’ve never experienced a Saturday at Ridgewood Dance Studio, you’re missing out on more than just great choreography. You’re missing the heartbeat of a community, a space where dance is joy, connection, and growth. Every week, we build not just better dancers—but better humans.

So, whether you’re enrolling your little one, thinking of joining our adult class, or just want to peek inside the magic, come by next Saturday. We’ll be dancing. ❀
